Would You Like Some Sitcom With Your Advertising?

The only thing more grating than a shitty sitcom (or should I say shitcom?), is a sitcom that’s sold its soul to the highest corporate bidder. We get it. The economy is in the shitter and advertisers aren’t clamoring to drop pricey thirty-second spots into your poorly written, brain-dead tripe. So now you’ve got two options: Do everyone a favor and pull the plug on your shitcom, or agree to hand over script writing responsibilities to Coors Light and Dave and Busters. The latter was the option adopted by FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Product placement is never a great way to generate revenue as it’s almost always heavy handed and compromises any shred of integrity left in the show/film. In this case, the brands are so heavily pimped, you’d think you were watching a goddamned infomercial. See for yourself right here.
