The Grocery Spies

Went to the corner store this morning as we were running low on milk. There was a young gentleman at the checkout still wearing his pajama pants and slippers. Noticed that he was only purchasing a single packet of toilet paper. You don’t have to be Einstein to figure out where he was rushing off to. I’ve always been self-conscious of other people studying my groceries and rushing to judgment yet dismissed this as paranoia on my part. Then again, I just shared my own judgments about someone else’s groceries so I’m back to being self-conscious again.

Should I ever find myself in that gentleman’s predicament, I’ll be sure to add at least one other item to the toilet paper. You know, just to throw off people’s assumptions.

Note to self: Ensure additional item isn’t a newspaper, as that won’t help cause.
